Norwegian Breakaway is a cruise ship under construction for Norwegian Cruise Lines, scheduled for delivery in April 2013. Construction of Norwegian Breakaway began on 21 September 2011, when the first piece of steel was cut at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. She is planned to be delivered in April 2013, and will be 144,017 GT in size, and have capacity for about 4,000 passengers. The ship will have a total of 1,024 staterooms and 238 suites, designed by Priestmangoode and Tillberg Design. Norwegian Breakaway will be homeported at the New York Passenger Ship Terminal in Manhattan, making seven-day cruises to Bermuda (May thru Sept) and seven-day cruises to the Bahamas & Florida (October thru April). She will be the largest cruise ship to sail from New York City.
