The Golden Nugget was originally opened to raise funds for the City of Moose Jaw’s annual Fair. It continued to operate year-round, running Thursday and Friday evenings from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to
midnight. It was the first casino in Saskatchewan to have Sunday gaming.
